Education & Work Experience
I am currently finishing my contract at a middle school in Jeollanamdo. Therefore, I am an E-2 visa transfer and can request my degrees/criminal record checks to forward on for immigration/visa renewal purposes. My current contract finishes on August 20, 2016 and I can start the immediate Monday (August 22, 2016).

I received my honours bachelors of science in psychology and neuroscience from McMaster University in Ontario. It is a 4-year degree. Afterwards, I received my bachelors of education in the primary/junior divisions which licensed me to teach all subjects for kindergarten to grade 6 elementary levels. In 2014, I also completed an 150-hour TEFL course. In 2015, I became certified to teach special education in Canada. This enables me to teach students with autism, learning disabilities, and giftedness.

After receiving my teaching license in Canada, I moved to South Korea. I've been teaching at a public middle school in Jeollanamdo full-time since 2014. Here, I create engaging lessons from the textbook as well as free lessons. I encourage my students to have confidence in their speaking abilities and to learn from each other in a safe environment. I also create fun English camps during the vacation breaks, hold staff teacher workshops, and teach an after-school beginner's writing class. In the past, I've also taught an after-school class for advanced conversation. I complete formative speaking and writing assessments for my students.

Furthermore, I teach at Gwangyang's Gifted Center, where I teach an English literature class to gifted middle school students. We emphasize creative thought and critical thinking when analyzing and responding to English books in written and spoken form. I also do on-going assessment and evaluations, giving students weekly feedback as well as formal graded assessments.
