Work Experience *
I have been teaching for Omaha Public Schools for 15 years. I taught 3rd grade my first year of teaching. I taught 1st grade for seven years. During my years of Elementary teaching, I created an Eric Carle Author Study, which included research about him, his illustrations, and research one of his animals, bugs, or insects from Eric Carle’s book. I created a play with Dr. Seuss’s Book “Foot Book” too.
When I taught Head Start/Pre-K at Spring Lake Magnet, my students performed two Traditional Latino Dances. I helped choreographed both dances. I’ve organized volunteers who made the outfits for students’ performance. Since I have taught at Mount View Elementary, I have helped modified, designed, and created costumes for different plays our students performed.
I have taught dance during our summer school enrichment program. I taught a variety of dances based on the student’s interest. I have a tutored for after school programs. I taught reading, writing, and math. When I have tutored, I have included music, dance, games, and creative play into my lessons.
