Professional Experience

September 2007 – present
TOP Language School in Pyeonghwa-dong, Jeonju.

I have spent the past year working at a kindergarten and hagwon. In addition to teaching children¡¯s¡¯ classes of all sizes and ages, I teach person-to-person with middle school and high school students as well as one-to-one conversation classes with adults.

In addition I teach an adult conversation class every evening, mainly consisting of university students living in the local area, including some from your university. Teaching this class is highly enjoyable and rewarding. I have gained experience in determining learning goals, planning engaging activities, and assessing students' understanding. After a year teaching adult learners I am certain I would like to continue to do so in the future.

Whilst I am happy to use conversation textbooks I have prepared my own 12 month conversation course materials which I have used with great success over the past year in the adult learners classroom.

January 2006 – September 2007
Houses of Parliament, London – working as a political researcher for a British politician.
