Jonathan Blake / ESL Teacher Recruitment Consultant

Bachelor of Korean Linguistics / Accounting
Brigham Young University

“Yo, sup foreigners” is the phrase that I often use to surprise the fellow Americans and other English speaking foreigners in Korea. Being a Korean American, I’m well disguised as one of the locals until I start talking lol. When I approach other Americans or my loving Canadian friends, they are pleasantly surprised by unexpected greeting.

Hi! My name is Johnathan Blake. I grew up in Seattle, Washington and lived all over Southern California. Sometimes my “valley girl” expressions come out. “like no way dude, for sure”. Perhaps because I’m an American, who grew up from the Beach areas of Southern Cal, I am totally laid back. This doesn’t bode very well with Korean culture at times. Koreans are always in a hurry as it seems. As an American consultant, I definitely speak your lingo, if you will. There are definite differences in culture between America and Korea as well as Canada and Korea, which I appreciate and respect very much. I love working for Englishwork.com. As a consultant, I represent North American territory (USA and Canada). I did my undergrad at Brigham Young University in Utah, where I studied Accounting and Korean Linguistics.

During my spare time, I enjoy golfing, listening to music, dining out, and traveling. I love Korea. Korea has so much to offer and people are so genuine. I feel very lucky and privileged to be associated with a solid company and good people here in Seoul.
