  Apostille, News from Korean Consulate
 Writer :    Date : 2007-10-09  Hit : 497
As of July 14, 2007, the Korean Consulate will no longer provide notarizations or authentication of documents.

On this date, Korean courts will officially begin to recognize what is known as an apostille, which refers to the legalization of documents under internationally recognized standards (namely, the terms of the 1961 Hague Convention Abolishing the Requirement of Legalization for Foreign Public Documents).

Thus, documents bound for Korea should now be accompanied by an apostille or International Certificate of Authentication, rather than a consular seal.
